What is Emtone?
Emtone is a device-based treatment that addresses the appearance of cellulite by delivering two forms of energy at the same time: radiofrequency and targeted pressure energy. No needles are used and no incision is made.
How Does It Work?
The appearance of cellulite usually has more than one cause: the connective tissue bands (septae) beneath the skin stiffen, fat tissue is pushed up between those bands toward the surface, circulation and lymphatic flow slow down, and the skin loses elasticity.
Emtone approaches these together:
- Radiofrequency: Heats the tissue in a controlled way, supporting skin firmness through collagen stimulation
- Targeted pressure energy: Uses mechanical vibration to address the stiffened connective tissue bands and support circulation in the area
This is the reason the two are applied together: heat alone does not act mechanically on the bands, and mechanical action alone does not stimulate collagen.
Grades of Cellulite
Cellulite is commonly described in four grades, and the grade shapes what can realistically be expected:
- Grade 1: Skin looks smooth at rest; dimpling appears only when the skin is pinched
- Grade 2: Dimpling is visible while standing, but disappears when lying down
- Grade 3: Dimpling is visible both standing and lying down
- Grade 4: Dimpling is pronounced, with nodules that can be felt by hand and looser skin
In the higher grades the aim is a reduction in the appearance rather than a complete disappearance. What is achievable in a given case is discussed openly at the examination.
By Area
Cellulite is most often described on the legs, buttocks, outer thighs, abdomen and upper arms. Skin thickness and tissue structure differ between these areas, so the number of sessions and the settings are planned per area rather than applied uniformly.
Sessions and Duration
A session generally takes 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the area. It is not a single-session treatment; a course of sessions at set intervals is usually planned, and the number is determined at the examination according to the grade, the area and the person.
Change is not expected the next day. Because the process depends on the body’s own tissue response, results appear gradually.
Who Is It Not Suitable For?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- An implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker
- Metal implants in the area to be treated
- Active infection, open wound or skin disease in the area
- A known malignancy, or an uncontrolled chronic condition

Does It Replace Diet and Exercise?
No. Emtone addresses the appearance of cellulite; it is not a weight-loss method and does not take the place of diet or exercise. Significant weight change during or after the course will also affect the result.
How Is the Cost Determined?
